Can I Really Make a Difference?
There have been times I would ask myself, " can I make a difference in my generation?" I bet you thought the same thing. Can anything I do really matter?
One person really can make a difference! I did a little bit of research, and look what I have found on an individual person that made a difference, and not just a difference but a huge difference!
• Just one man, Noah, not just heard God's voice, but obeyed. Despite a strange assignment and knowing he would be made fun of. He still obeyed God and built the boat that would preserve life.
• Just one man, Moses, despite a deep sense of inadequacy, became the liberator, lawgiver, and leader of the Israelites and set them free.
• Just one woman, Queen Esther, despite being young and an orphaned Jew, looked as if all was against her. She became queen and went before the King even though she might have been killed and petitioned for her people. She saved their lives.
• Just one woman, Mary, despite being a teenager, became the mother of Jesus Christ.
• Just one man, the Son of God, the greatest gift of all—offers eternal life. And Jesus Christ makes the biggest difference ever, no one can compare to that.
• One woman in 1955, Rosa Parks, was ordered to give up her seat to a white passenger. When she remained seated, her simple act of protest eventually led a new era of the civil rights movement.
• One man, Martin Luther King, He led a mass struggle for racial equality that doomed segregation and changed America forever
So can you or I make a difference? Yes! One vote can break a tie.
These are a few of many people who have made a difference. Many times we don't make a difference because we look at our inabilities, shortcomings, lacks, and other weaknesses, and I have so much so I tend to look at those!!
We have a God who is strong, almighty, and has no lack. Do you desire to make a difference? Because I know I do! Can you make a difference in your school, workplace, family, community or nation? Absolutely!
God has done great things through one person, so He can do it with me and with you.
Ask God, how can He use me (you) to make a difference in this world.
But be aware, most the time He will place something that may seem crazy and unrealistic, but He will get us through it! |
